Selected ASTM Standards

This list has been compiled from standards referenced in ASME RPT-1, AWWA C950 and other American standards. It is not intended to be complete, but it covers most of the ASTM standards met when manufacturing products made from composites in North America. Although the emphasis is on composites, those related to thermoplastics are deemed important in view of their use in dual-laminate tanks, which have a thermoplastic liner and fittings, reinforced with a composite structural laminate. Standards used in the manufacture of thermoplastic pipe and fittings are generally not included. The standards are grouped into specifications, practices and test methods. The list begins with the Standard Terminology for Plastics. We try to maintain copies of the most commonly used standards, where possible, although some of them may be older editions.
