PHOTO GALLERY

This photo gallery is intended to illustrate various industrial products made from glass-fibre reinforced plastics usually known by the acronym FRP or GRP. Some major applications of engineering thermoplastics may also be added.  The gallery menu is divided into sections.  The first includes some of the larger cylindrical vertical tanks, horizontal tanks, and tanks or scrubbers with special design features as shown above.

Photographs of rectangular tanks and clarifiers illustrate the need for stiffening of contact-moulded FRP walls, which have moduli of elasticity at best only about 6% of that of steel. The section on static mixers, illustrates flanges for high pressure piping, with the flange thicknesses again reflecting the effect of the relatively low moduli compared to steel.
